Order a repeat prescription

You can order a repeat prescription using:

  • your Patient access account, if you have one
  • the NHS website
  • the NHS App
  • email

You cannot order repeat prescriptions by phone. This is to protect patient safety.

Once you've ordered, your prescription will be ready in 2 working days.

Patient Access

You need to be at least 17 years old.

You need your Patient access username and password.

Get a Patient access account

To register with Patient access you need to go to your surgery and fill in a form. Bring proof of identity - for example a passport or driving licence.

NHS website

You need to be at least 13 years old.

You'll need your NHS login. If you do not have one, you’ll be asked to set one up.

  • the medicine you need
  • your name
  • your address
  • your date of birth

Get prescriptions sent to your pharmacy

When you order, you can get repeat prescriptions sent to your local pharmacy.

This means you do not need to collect paper prescriptions from your GP surgery.
