Meningitis B vaccine in the UK for University Students
In light of the current outbreak of Meningitis B in Kent, please see information below.
The NHS vaccinates young children against Meningitis B, but it only started doing so in September 2015 for babies born on or after 1 July 2015. Those born before this date and who have not been vaccinated, are not currently eligible for Men B vaccination as part of the NHS Vaccine Schedule at the present time. This may be available privately – information about private vaccine providers may be found online.
For more information on NHS vaccination schedule, please see www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/nhs-vaccinations-and/when-to-have-them.
