Mounjaro

You may have seen reports over the last few days that the cost of Mounjaro is likely to be going up quite significantly.

If you are currently administering this medication from a private source (ie you have not been prescribed it by the practice or an NHS hospital consultant/their team), please do not contact the Practice to ask if we can take over monitoring and/or prescribing this for you, as we can only prescribe for those who fit the criteria. Please contact your provider for more information.

NHS eligibility criteria, which is quite strict, is as follows:

* BMI of 40 or above
AND 4 of the following medically diagnosed conditions -
** Type 2 diabetes
** Hypertension
** High cholesterol
** Obstructive sleep apnoea
** Cardiovascular disease

If you do not fit this criteria in full, the Practice are unable to prescribe without exception.

We regularly run searches to identify any eligible patients, and all patients with long term conditions are also reviewed in their annual birth month health review for eligibility.
